1. Stephen Jackson (TB) 2,635 20 td's 541 att
Averages:
164.69 yards per game
1.25 touchdowns per game
33.81 attempts per game
4.87 yards per carry
1 Touchdown every 27.05 carries.
As MGood030 said, SJax WAS my offense. LT benefited from a better OL, and given that he didn't rush as much, safe to say his team passed more than mine - easier to set up the run when you can use play action.
All I did was run, run run, and still had 4.87 yards per carry.
And now let's check out Fred Taylor
3. Fred Taylor (NYJ) 2,155 yards 17 td's 424 att
Averages:
134.69 yars per game
1.06 touchdowns per game
26.5 attempts per game
5.08 yards per carry
1 Touchdown every 24.94 carries.
Statistically, Fred Taylor had 'better' averages, however, SJax had more attempts, and thus more chances, to bring those averages down. But, we must now consider: which player had a better supporting cast?

While I do believe my offensive line is better (Though I had like one OL out almost every game the whole season), on a whole, which running back benefited more from his team?
Sjax with his QBs Steve McNair 83-34-4 and Mark Brunell 77-36-4? (McNair had been Injured), along with top 3 WRs Marty Booker 82-31-2, Laurent Robinson 76-22-4, and Jeff Webb 70-25-2? (Yes, I admit, Shockey is a better TE, my only other notable skilled position superstar on offense)
Or Fred Taylor with QB Jason Campbell 84-25-4, and top 3 WRs Steve Smith 98-28-6, Roy Williams 93-25-4, and James Jones 81-23-4? Hell, Jones is better than my #1.
SJax showed that he carried the Tampa Bay Bucs. The Jets could have had another back also take advantage of a powerful receiving corp that the Jets have.
That should end the discussion.
